At Mooresville High School, classroom instruction has been transformed thanks to the laptops in the hands of every one of our students.  Our excellent teaching staff uses this tool to infuse classrooms with relevant learning that is personalized to each learner. Our school and district have been recognized nationwide for our success.

Our Mission

To value the individual and celebrate learning through innovation, collaboration and leadership.

Our Vision

To inspire young minds to revolutionize tomorrow.

A 21st Century Curriculum

Our curriculum at MHS focuses on 21st century skills that will prepare our students for career and college. Our curriculum is framed by the North Carolina Essential Standards and Common Core Standards. We offer a wide range of courses, including core academic subjects and popular electives such as Personal Law and Sports and Literature.

We emphasize problem-solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world application in every lesson we teach.

In our classrooms, you can expect to find students working in groups to create authentic products. Students share their learning with classrooms across the world via Skype, blogs and wikis as they explore what it means to be a global citizen. Our students learn to debate and discuss issues, to critically analyze texts and to develop real-world skills such as web design. Our classrooms are filled with the sounds of engaged students and teachers who encourage and facilitate learning.

National Recognition

We have been featured in several national news stories, including The Wall Street Journal, The Discovery Channel, PBS News Hours with Jim Lehrer and Fox News.

President Barack Obama visited our district in June 2013, affirming our school and district motto:

"So that's the spirit that's reflected in the motto of your school district -- 'every child, every day.' It's that fundamental belief that no matter who you are, no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, every child can learn. Every child can succeed. Every child, every day, deserves that chance. We've got an obligation to give every young person that chance."
