COVID-19 Message - Mandate from Gov. Cooper

COVID-19 Update Graphic

Hello MGSD families,

As many of you may have heard, this afternoon Governor Roy Cooper ordered the closure of all public schools through at least March 27 in an attempt to try to halt the spread of COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus.  As of right now, MGSD is continuing with its plan to provide pickup lunches for all our MGSD students at no cost beginning on Tuesday, March 17.  The pickup location for this week will be at South Elementary School. Please remember to fill out the survey in the links below to help us plan for numbers.

In addition, MGSD is working diligently to put alternative learning/online instruction plans into place beginning on Monday, March 23.  As previously stated in our plan also found below, more information about what that will look like for our different grade levels will be released later next week as they are finalized.  We are fortunate to have outstanding staff, as well as the ability to make sure our students can continue to have access to quality learning even when situations like the one we are experiencing within our state and country occur.

Thank you and stay tuned as we work together to do what is best for every child, every day!
