A Letter from Superintendent Gardner: Teacher Appreciation 2026

Posted Date: 05/04/26 (02:25 PM)

As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week this week, I am honored to recognize the extraordinary educators of the Mooresville Graded School District and the impact that they make in our community. Teaching is a calling grounded in an unwavering belief in the potential of every student. I’m thankful for our educators who show up each day committed to meeting students where they are and helping them discover who they can become.

WE ARE MOORESVILLE is more than a statement or a catch phrase. It reflects a belief that there is something truly special about this community.  Strong public schools are the heartbeat of a successful community. They shape our future by developing graduates who are prepared for enrollment, enlistment, or employment. Families choose to call Mooresville home because of our schools, and businesses invest here because of the talent and character of our students. When our schools are strong, our entire community thrives.

The strength of our school system is built on unified support. When a community stands behind its educators by valuing and trusting their work, we create the conditions for excellence. Strong community support also helps us attract and retain outstanding teachers, ensuring that every child continues to have access to a high-quality education.

This week, I invite our entire community to take action.  Think about a teacher who made a difference in your life or in the life of your child. Take a moment to reach out and let them know the impact they have had. Your words matter more than you know, and they serve as a powerful reminder of why educators do this work.

As superintendent, I am deeply grateful for our teachers and for a community that stands beside them. Thank you for supporting our schools, and most importantly, thank you for supporting our educators.
